LONGBOARD COMPETITIONS

Welcome to 25/26 Season of Longboard with PIBC

We’re stoked to have you back for another epic season of longboarding with the Phillip Island Boardriders Club! This guide covers everything for our first comp — from equipment and etiquette to how the day will run. Our goal is simple: have fun, stay safe, and celebrate the longboard lifestyle. Elimination rounds are back with repechage, so everyone gets at least two heats — more waves, more fun!

At PIBC, we value respect, sportsmanship, safety, and community. As a volunteer-run club, we’re proud to create an inclusive, fair, and supportive vibe. All events follow the Surfing Australia Rule Book to keep things consistent and fair. Bring your best attitude, cheer each other on, and enjoy another great season with PIBC!

Equipment Specifications

To keep things fair and consistent with longboard standards, please ensure your board meets:

• Length: Minimum 9 feet (nose to tail on the deck)

• Width: Minimum 47 inches total — widest point + 12" from tail + 12" from nose

Surf Etiquette

We are all here to enjoy the waves safely and respectfully. Please keep these key points in mind:

• Paddling Out: Take a wide path or go through the whitewater to avoid others.

• Right of Way: Communicate — if the wave breaks both ways, ask “Which way are you going?”

• Snaking: Don’t paddle inside or under someone to get priority.

• Dropping In: Never enter a wave already being ridden. If it happens accidentally, pull out immediately.

Respect the rules, respect each other — we will penalise!

Get Involved

We’re all volunteers, so every bit of help counts — jump in for setup or pack down, and if you surf a heat, please judge one too. Your support keeps the day running smoothly and the stoke alive. We can’t wait to see you on Saturday, 8 November 2025, for a day full of waves, laughs, and good vibes. Whether you’re surfing for fun, challenge, or stoke — welcome to another great season with PIBC!
