FY 23/24 Summary

The 2023-2024 financial year saw continued strong financial performance, of management of over $120,000 in transactions, with two-party transaction authentication required from both President Han and Treasurer Jo. Club operations were run by the volunteer committee, with generous support of our sponsors, some local businesses, and with a collective grass-roots community spirit.

In 23/24 FY PIBC’s top five largest income earners were;

  • Membership fees

  • Bar sales

  • Yoga program

  • Sponsorship

  • Grants

This income was thanks to the entire committee;

  • Confirming membership fee payments were paid before comps

  • Staffing the bar and Young Henry’s alcohol donation

  • Our fabulous yoga teacher Dom running four classes a week at the Clubhouse, with some extra Sunday Sessions

  • Our generous sponsors in monies and product

  • Obtaining grants deposited to PIBC before 30 June 2024

In 23/24 FY PIBC’s top five expenditure categories were;

  • Clubhouse Equipment & Fittings

  • Presentation Nights

  • Development - Junior

  • Yoga teacher payment

  • Repairs and Maintenance

These operating expenses consisted of;

The latest Clubhouse renovations of the pergola area of painting, bistro blinds, memorabilia wall, pool table restoration, overhead pool table lighting and heating, and of course the entire Clubhouse exterior painting!

All cost associated with presentation nights including alcohol (which was sold), food, music, printing of certificates, medals, some product, end of year trophy engraving.

Investing in our next generation of surfers including heavily subsidised youth development courses (some reimbursed by a State Gov grant), Urbnsurf trip, food, live heats comps, medals and external surf coach providers.

Payment to facilitate our yoga program and generate us regular income, and activate the Clubhouse all year round.

Clubhouse ongoing maintenance costs such as landscape gardening, regeneration tip planting, maintenance works on water, toilets, shower, fridges, dishwashers, lightings, and entire gutter replacements (reimbursed by a Bass Coast Shire Council grant.

The 24/25 financial year ahead is exciting for PIBC;

With over an additional $40,000 in grants already confirmed will be deposited, including for concreting paths at the Clubhouse by Tiny Town State Gov, and a cash for cans trailer and window replacements by Bendigo Bank San Remo branch.

Clubhouse renovation and maintenance expenses are predicted to reduce significantly, with foundations achieved this FY.

Income is expected to increase through the established cash for cans scheme, yoga program, and venue hire of the renovated Clubhouse.

A huge year of financial success for PIBC, enabling to set up the facilities and programs structures for the next committee!
